Ever since high school, I have been very interested in Foucault’s idea of the panopticon and prisons. So, in college, when I was able to connect another one of my interests, German history, I wrote about the two.
Here is the paper I wrote about Nazi Cinema and the Panopticon
Writing this paper helped me deepen my knowledge of Germany and its history, which helped when I traveled to Berlin, both in 2018, and in 2019. One was to study contemporary Germany, the other to study the Weimar era, which influenced and developed Nazi film techniques.
